We took five of our animals to the Heart of England Spring Fiesta at Stoneleigh Park on the 24/25th April
We were showing against some of the finest animals in the UK so it's not suprising really that we didn't get anywhere in any of the classes!

Never mind, our first show completed. It was a great experience for us and the alpacas got their first taste of the show environment. Whilst they didn't win, they behaved very well - a great testiment to the Camelidynamics principals.
Many thanks to the show organisers for all their hard work and to the other owners for making us feel so welcome.
We think we now have the bug!
Amy with Milkshake and Toria with Jim Bob
In preparation for the show we worked up to haltering and leading using TTouch to prepare the aniamls to have the halters on and using "ratchet" signals on the lead reins to encourage them to walk.
The final touch was to try and get off some of the clay we have in our area, still sticking to their legs and set like concrete. A bucket and sponge wasn't going to work, hose is at the other end of the patch, so we took the only option left.

We took them for a paddle! Hugo took to it like....an alpaca to water and laid down, Jim Bob and Milkshake just sort of "hung out" and Bournville thought bath night was a hideous idea.
